Panthers volleyball breaks through for win over Rossford

The Maumee volleyball team broke through with a win last week, beating host Rossford, 3-0, in a Northern Buckeye Conference game.
The Panthers followed that with a close 3-0 loss to Otsego, finishing the week with a 1-4 overall record and a 1-1 mark in the NBC.
Autumn Draper led Maumee with 15 kills and two blocks against the Bulldogs. Lydia Christenson added seven kills, and Sydney Genot had seven kills and five service aces.
Brooke Kwiatkowski had 24 assists and eight digs. Kirsten Green led the way with 11 digs, and Julia Coutcher had seven.
The Panthers lost a tight match to the Knights, 23-25, 23-25, 20-25.
Genot had a team-high eight kills and two aces. Draper and Kennedi King each had seven kills.
Kwiatkowski led Maumee with 21 assists and 15 digs. Green had 10 digs and Coutcher had nine.
Genot leads the team this season with 41 kills and is second with nine aces. Draper has 39 kills and eight blocks.
Kwiatkowski leads in three categories — assists (90), digs (74) and aces (10).
