Yeager earns spot in Division I girls golf district tournament

Maumee junior Kallie Yeager fired a 95 at the Division I sectional golf tournament last week, earning a spot in this week’s district tournament.
Yeager had a 42 on the back nine at Eagle’s Landing to secure her spot. The Division I district will be at Stone Ridge.
The Panthers turned in a 483 team score, good for 14th place overall.
Jadyn Netry had a 100, and Tal Swift and Hannah Ruiz each had 144s. Abigail Turner had a 191.
MHS boys golf
Maumee’s Antonio Valadez had an 83 at the Division I golf sectional tournament last week at Stone Ridge. The junior just missed qualifying for the district tournament, losing a playoff for the fifth and final spot.
The Panthers had a 354 team score to place them in eighth. Zak Morris and Jeremy Anderson-Wonnell each had 90s, and J.J Peace had a 91. Tommy Parker added a 98.
MHS girls tennis
The Maumee girls tennis team defended its title at the NBC Tennis Tournament last weekend at Oak Harbor.
Laurel Patrick at second singles, Kiersten Krout at third singles, and Mckayla Hayes and Laci Winckowski at second doubles all won their flights.
Samantha Mavis finished second at first singles.
Tylee Alvarez and Hilari Miko were third at first doubles.
The Panthers also finished fourth at the Bryan Tournament last week. Krout won the title at third singles, and Patrick was fourth at second singles.
